The field has a large area to space the classes appropriately  and offer different activity 'pods' for use during classes.    The car parking area is also large and separated from the training squares.    Check in and payment will be done at the caravan where  you will be directed to your training square.   Please make your way promptly to the training square after checking in and wait for your instructor.

We have a variety of equipment we use in classes such as cones & poles as markers, toys, cloths, mats and tubs  as training aids.  The agility equipment  is currently used to introduce young dogs to new objects and other items including a ball pit  are used to help build confidence around new and novel things!   We have  hand sanitiser and wipes available for use and regularly wipe down equipment.

No dog is forced to interact with or work around any of the items but the experience of your instructor will help your dog to see that these items are nothing to be scared of if they do show apprehension.

NB: We do not allow pups and young dogs to use the agility equipment  unsupervised or inappropriately.

Class fees are detailed at the bottom of this page.

PLEASE NOTE
Your dog must be vaccinated in order to attend our classes.  Proof of vaccination must be shown when booking your place.

Our approach to training is...

We believe in rewarding and reinforcing good behaviour.
We believe in understanding and training out (or redirecting) perceived 'bad behaviour', not just ignoring it.
We believe dogs with perceived training or behaviour problems should never receive physical punishment, however we also do not believe dogs should continue to rehearse unwanted behaviours.
We will guide you in how to address this and offer alternative referral support if needed.

Class format...

Each class format is based on teaching skills to your puppy or dog in the form of commands,(or cues), appropriate social greetings and investigation of new and novel things. You will also be given a basic understanding of how your dog learns and how you can effectively communicate with him or her to achieve what you want.
Depending on you and your dog's needs, these basic skills are then progressed to more advanced classes.
We don't have a strict, set plan on movement through classes preferring to move you and your dog to the next level (after a discussion) once you are showing signs of progression.

Seasonal information...

We aim to run classes for 11 months of the year, breaking up for the Christmas period only.  However because classes are held outside we have to take into consideration the conditions of the training field and the weather.
In winter, due to bad weather and potential flooding, we may have to finish classes earlier in the season than hoped with a restart happening much later in January or even February.
In summer we have to take the welfare of dogs into consideration and if temperatures are high we will call classes off.   If working in warm weather we will adapt training to suit the dogs and will ask you and your dog to leave if we feel they are uncomfortable or risk getting distressed due to the heat.

Class sizes.

Class sizes range from 5-10 dogs and owners depending on ability and level.  For larger classes often there is an assistant on hand as well as the instructor.  If there are large numbers for a particular level then classes will be split to keep numbers to an appropriate level.
We are continuing to limit class sizes to 8 in beginner and  intermediate and 10 at advanced level.
